Teeth Whitening(Bleaching)
Teeth Whitening(Bleaching)
Teeth Whitening is a process applied to lighten the color of discolored and yellowed teeth a few tones for the patient. It is aimed to remove the discoloration that has occurred in the enamel and dentin layer of the teeth. Teeth color is the complement of a beautiful smile as an indicator of a healthy and well-groomed mouth.
Structural defects that occur during the formation of teeth, consumed food and beverages, some antibiotics used at an early age or in the womb, the amount of fluoride in drinking water can cause discoloration on the teeth. With advanced age, prostheses, veneers and fillings that have been used for a long time can also cause the loss of whiteness in the teeth. Coffee, cigarettes, coloring and acidic foods can all cause teeth to lose their natural color and cause stubborn staining. Teeth Whitening is recommended instead of applying methods such as laminate veneer to teeth that have lost their natural color in the first place. The teeth can be opened up to ten tons depending on the weight of the coloration degree. Teeth whitening is done in two ways with the help of a dentist.
1.Professional whitening process (Office Type Teeth Whitening -Office Bleaching),
2.Home bleaching, which is applied at home in line with the recommendation of your dentist.
Teeth Whiteness is one of the first aesthetic elements that attract attention when evaluated from an aesthetic point of view.
Is Teeth Whitening Safe?
Teeth Whitening is safe for everyone as long as there is no gum disease under the control of the dentist. Contrary to what is commonly known, there is no medical record of permanent or structural damage to the teeth.
- Office Type Teeth Whitening (Power Bleaching): Office type teeth whitening, known as Power Bleaching, is a teeth whitening method that is performed in a clinical setting and within an average of one hour. In this method, your teeth can be lightened up to 3-4 shades by applying a whitening gel and using light. It is recommended to patients as the most common, safe and fastest method of teeth whitening.
- Home Bleaching: In home bleaching, the teeth are measured and a plaque is made specifically for the patient. Whitening agent suitable for home use given by the physician is placed in this plaque and applied on clean teeth that have been brushed for 6-8 hours. In home-type teeth whitening, it is necessary to apply for 2-3 weeks to achieve the desired whiteness. Home bleaching can be done alone or to prolong the effect of office whitening.
Teeth Whitening with Laser
Laser teeth whitening is a professional and very effective teeth whitening method applied by the dentist in the clinic.
In the first stage, the bleaching drug is applied to the teeth by the dentist. Afterwards, laser light is shined on the teeth to be whitened. Although the laser light does not have a significant effect on teeth whitening, the applied bleach initiates the chemical reaction that makes the drug active. In the laser teeth whitening process, which takes a maximum of 1 hour in the clinic, in some cases it may require more than one session to reach the desired whiteness level.
